Manchester Psychfest returns this year with familiar and obscure names designed to feed your head.
Taking place at various venues across Manchester on Saturday August 30th, Goat, Warmduscher, Helicon and Gong are among the most familiar psychedelic names.
One of our favourite singer songwriters, Nadine Shah, also joins the bill, as does another of our top acts The Bug Club.
They appear alongside a smorgasbord of lesser-known acts to blow your minds, including Slow Fiction, Horse Jumper of Love and Crocodiles.
Art exhibitions and murals are also on display to stimulate the eye and further frazzle the mind. Plus there are workshops, yoga and street food available.
Venues hosting this mind-bending event include Manchester Academy, Albert Hall, o2 Ritz, Projekts Skate Park, Gorilla, YES, Deaf Institute, Fac251 & The Bread Shed.
Earlier this month the event announced further acts taking part, including Jadu Heart, a debut show from Working Men’s Club’s Sydney Minsky Sargeant and “super-hyped” Radio Free Alice.
Also included are five Grassroots acts handpicked from hundreds of applications to a new Arts Council England-supported programme. This received over 400 submissions from artists all over the UK. The five successful applicants are Zo Lief, Wyatt, Puppy Teeth, Lana Death Ray, Twin Flames.
Final tickets to the event are running low, warn organisers. More information on getting tickets is available here.
Its worth mentioning that NHS staff and under 24s get a 20% discount.
